Courses to study after class 10 in INDIA and ABROAD

Everybody knows that students can study either in the state board stream of education or the central board of education or in the streams which match up with the international system of education. In these streams, the pattern of delivery of the lessons and the way the evaluation is conducted tend to differ.

Whether in India or abroad, after class 10, you would not even know which university to go to and which stream to choose from an array of courses offered at various schools or Universities.

CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB, and many other certificate courses for hands-on learning prepare the ground for your college studies.

Under the science stream, the courses are classified into Pure Science and Basic Science with the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

  • Each stream has its own syllabus and evaluation pattern for screening. Each varies in difficulty level and how it is being recognized in other foreign countries.

Parents of the students studying in India, will go from school to school of various boards, compare the strengths and take up the decision. When you apply abroad, not only the marks of class 10 but, your marks of class 8 and class 9 also matter. Your class 10 marks do matter in choosing the best universities. Apart from your academics, your other non-academic performance should be equally good.

4. Which are the commonly taken entrance tests (standardized tests) before taking admission into undergraduate courses abroad?

IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, and ACT are the most commonly taken standardized tests to prove one’s eligibility before admission into a good school. The syllabi of these tests include sessions of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The higher the score, the better will be one’s chance to get into a reputed school. (there are many more standardized tests to get admission into the undergraduate level for various universities in various countries)

5. How will the study after class 10 benefit, if you take up a course abroad?

It helps. Your preparation in class 11 and class 12, after class 10, helps as a launching pad for understanding what you want to do further and in choosing a better course for your under-graduation.

6. What are the stages of high school education?

Class 10 is the second year of a student’s high school period. In a four-year course, the stages are Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior.

Class 12 is the senior level in the student’s high school education.

7. Is there a 13th grade in high school education?

Some schools have this pattern. This is the extra year of high school integrated with college. After this, they focus on the college curriculum.
