CAREER COUNSELING FOR CLASS EIGHT ONWARDS !!

• In India, every year, Lakhs of students appear for their Board Examinations !! check for more information on the official Board Portal of the respective Board.
• An unimaginable big number of STATE BOARD children at the class 10 level and at the class 12, Pre-University level compete as good contenders!!
• A few lakh students appear for getting into Medical Education, a humoungous number for CA and many thousands of aspirants for IIT!!
• The magnitude with which students seek guidance from the certified career counselors is immense and is growing more than ever !!.
• Students taking up different careers, depend on their interest and their subject expertise.
• In the official Website for Central Board for Secondary Education, it mentions about the progress on NEP 2020, porposed by the GOI. It mentions about it’s ambition of including career counseling for students, as a part of the curriculum, and training it’s teachers for the above demand. Further, it talks about seeing the forthcoming benefits,in future, for introducing the career guidance at the school level.
• If in-house teachers get trained for this protocol, as proposed, in the coming days, the number of students going out to an outbound counselor for an in-depth analysis might become less and parents might feel relieved to a great extent !!

It is a systematic process of analyzing the students’ strengths, interests, skills, and abilities and mapping these latent potentials to align with the available spectrum of appropriate, gratifying career option/s and to give a fruitful direction to the student, who aspires to take up a befitting profession in the future, through his / her stream of study of choice AND for the professional who wants to switch his/ her career

• IS IT A SHORT PROCESS TO MAKE A STUDENT CHOOSE A BUNCH OF SUBJECTS AND LET GO?

Career counseling imparts a lifelong impact and calls for tough decisions to make at the right time.

• WHO CAN GET CAREER COUNSELLING?

Students from class 8 to working professionals can get career guidance. With examination pressure and mounting competition for college admission, parents and students need timely help for a better non- regretting future.

• WHY DO STUDENTS NEED CAREER COUNSELING?

The advantages and the flexibility that the NEP 2020 has come out with, have indeed caused a dilemma in the students as to how to make the right career choice. And parents feel that they need more time to get adapted to the current policy heralded, though not implemented yet all over India.

Counseling gives them knowledge about the students’ abilities, interests, gives confidence and guidance. It is always advisable to undergo a systematic guidance session and get a report of their strengths.

• IS CHOOSING A CAREER DIFFICULT ?

In the current age, there are more than 200 career paths with 18 and more career clusters that are interconnected and those of which you would not even have heard about.

• HOW MUCH DOES CAREER COUNSELING COST?

Always the cost varies from programme to programme and is different for different modules and for different levels. If you want to know what you would be good at, it is always better to go for an in-depth analysis from a certified career counselor/analyst with a substantial amount of time to spare.
